| SWIM LEVELS |

STARFISH 1 ages 3 and over |
| |
Goal: Start the basics of swimming while focusing on water safety. |
|
|
| |
At this level children may be apprehensive about leaving a parent or entering the water. This class will focus on making the water a safe & fun environment for children while also teaching them the very basics of swimming and water safety. |
|
|
 |
STARFISH 2 |
| |
Goal: Comfortable with basic swim strokes, water safety and ability to swim on their own. |
|
|
| |
This class focuses on beginning strokes and safety lessons. Basics such as “Doggy Paddle” are reinforced as well as beginning stages of the backstroke. The children will learn to swim on their own in order to graduate from this level. |
|
|
 |
STARFISH 3 |
| |
Goal: Introduce child to proper techniques of breathing, kicking and continue having fun in a safe environment. |
|
|
| |
Children in Starfish III should already be able to "doggy paddle" on their own and be comfortable on their back with assistance. This class willl focus on perfecting the doggy paddle and backstroke as well as an introduction to the "Crawl Stroke" and proper breathing techniques. |

RAY 1 |
| |
Goal: Gain independence while swimming and continue building confidence in the water. |
|
|
| |
Students will work to perfect their Crawl Stroke and gain independence while swimming the back stroke. There is more focus working in the deeper end of the pool in order to strengthen their swimming strokes and build confidence. They will also be introduced to more strokes. After they build up more endurance they will participate in relay races and swimming drills. |
|
|
 |
RAY 2 |

Goal: Gain independence while swimming and continue building confidence in the water. |
|
|
| |
Students at this level will have perfected their Crawl stroke and basic back stroke. They will practice the strokes learned in Rays 1 and continue to perfect the Crawl and back strokes. They will also complete a “dolphin dive” and participate in swim drills and fun water games. |
|
|
 |
SHARK |
| |
Goal: Learn advanced stroke techniques while perfecting those learned in prior classes. |
|
|
|
Once students have reached the level of Shark, they will be ready to complete all the basic strokes. Students will work to perfect their crawl, back, breast, side and elementary back stroke as well as practice the butterfly stroke. This level will focus on endurance and will be able to complete laps on their own. |

|
 |
ADULT |
| |
Goal: Gain confidence, build endurance and stamina, learn basic pool safety and perfect all the swim strokes learned. |
|
|
|
These classes are directed toward adults at any level. In these classes the instructor works with participants to achieve their own individual goals. |
|
|
